In Roots of the Church, we are walking through Acts 1–12 to rediscover what the church has always been called to be. As we watch the first believers depend on God, proclaim the gospel, share life together, overcome opposition, cross barriers, and carry the hope of Jesus into the world, we find more than a record of our past. We find the roots that still give the church life today. Methods change, generations come and go, and churches enter new seasons, but our roots remain the same: Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, the truth of the gospel, and the mission He has given His people. As we look toward what God has for us next, we want to keep growing from the same roots that have sustained Christ’s church from the beginning.
