One Hope Baptist Church is first and foremost a Christian church, agreeing with the essential doctrines of what it means to be a Christian.
God — There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Scripture — The Bible is God's inspired Word and is trustworthy and authoritative for faith and life.
Creation — God created all things and human beings uniquely in his image.
Humanity and Sin — Humanity was created for relationship with God, but all people are sinners, separated from God and unable to save themselves.
Jesus Christ — Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, the eternal Son of God who became incarnate, born of the virgin Mary.
The Cross — Jesus willingly died for our sins, accomplishing the salvation we could not accomplish for ourselves.
The Resurrection — Jesus physically rose from the dead, conquering sin and death.
Salvation — Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ rather than earned by human works.
The Holy Spirit — The Holy Spirit is God, indwells believers, gives new life, transforms us toward Christlikeness, and empowers God's people for his mission.
The Church — All who belong to Christ constitute his Church and are called to worship God, grow as disciples, love one another, and make disciples of all nations.
Eternal Life and God's Kingdom — Those who are in Christ will live eternally with God in his restored creation, while those who remain separated from Christ face final judgment.
More specifically, we are a Southern Baptist Church and agree with the "Baptist, Faith, and Message" as an overview of our beliefs. That full statement can be found at www.sbc.net/bfm2000
